I learned something about myself today.

Today between my classes, my group was chatting, waiting for the next class to start.

I went to get a drink of water, and came back, and Adam and Matt were talking. Adam was in my chair, so I told him jokingly to get out of it, and they said they were having a deep conversation. I, of course, told them they could continue their conversation with me sitting in the middle, in my seat.

They said they were talking about what they are passionate about. So Adam turned to me and said, "Angie, what are you passionate about?" I thought for a second and something came to mind, Respect. I am passionate about Respect. I told them that, and explained what I meant. I am passionate about showing Respect to people, and about receiving respect. Most of what offends me, or upsets me, (as well as what I feel the most terrible about), is Respect.

I am offended when people don't appear respectful, and I feel deeply troubled and repentant when I realize I have not behaved respectfully.

In turn, I respect people who are respectful and conscientious.

Adam and Matt then told me what they were passionate about. Matt said basketball, and money. He is passionate about basketball because he loves it, and money because he wants to work hard and be financially secure so that he can do whatever he wants to in life. Adam said that he is passionate about leadership. He loves being a leader and working towards a challenging goal, as well as helping a team meet a challenging goal.

I just found this to be an interesting little lesson today, on different people and goals, as well about myself. Interesting that what I learned what not in class...(though I did learn in class today, don't you worry.)
